Taking a Course For Category A1
The course you take for category A1 is an important step to obtain your license. It is not the only step. You must also pass a practical test.

Theoretical lessons
Sigma Aerospace College offers courses that include all the theory training requirements to advance to licensing as a pilot. This includes the competencies of the MEA Aeroskills Training Package as well as Part 66 modular assessments. They also meet the requirements for licensing of the European Union. These courses do not offer any practical training. Students can complete the training in a practical manner using RPL.
The theory lessons are the most important part of the course for category A1. To be eligible for the theory test, you must attend 12 90-minute theory classes. However, the number of these lessons may be reduced based on the progress you've made in your learning.
The theoretical lessons focus on considerations regarding audience, purpose and the choice of stylistic elements for writing texts. The lessons also teach you how to discern between opinions, facts, and judgments, and also how to build your capacity to think inductively and deductively. They will also help you develop the ability to critically evaluate, critique, and advocate ideas.
Practical lessons
The course for category A1 prepares the student for a motorcycle practical test. This course is intended for those who want to ride a moped, or a small motorbike that has a capacity of up to 125cc. The lessons in the practical portion include theory and practice of basic riding skills. The duration of the course is a minimum of four hours. Students who want to pass the test must have completed at minimum nine hours of training under the guidance of an instructor.
The practical lessons in the category A1 course are divided into several sections. The first section is a theoretical lesson on the fundamental rules of driving. The next is a practical instruction on the road, where the student practices the manoeuvres that will be tested in the Mod 1 test. The final lesson is the test itself and lasts for about 15 minutes. During the test, the student is required to perform various manoeuvres whether on Federal or country roads. The student will also have to complete a variety of special rides, such as driving at dawn, in the rain or at night.
Students must also pass a written test in addition to the practical and theoretical lessons. This exam is comprised of 50 multiple-choice tests. The test must be passed with at least 41 points. After completing the practical course, the student can take the Mod 1 test and be issued an authorization to ride motorbikes in the category A1. The procedure can differ from one canton to another however, it usually takes some weeks or even days to receive the permit.

Theory test
You must pass the theory test to get a category A1 license before you can begin your practical training. The test is comprised of 40 questions, 10 of which concern road safety. The test takes 30 minutes and you must make no more than five mistakes in order to pass.
